1. Why should I license my dog?

The dog license tag provides identification if your dog were to be lost or stolen and also protects the public health by preventing the spread of rabies from dogs to humans. Dog license tags saves lives of lost dogs ending up in the animal shelter by quickly identifying the dog and its owner, increasing the odds that they are reunited. It's also the law.

2. What is the procedure for reporting a dog?

The procedure for reporting an unlicensed dog or dog complaint is to call the Mayor's Hotline, 311. Dangerous dogs or dog activities should be reported to the police.

Is There Any Fee Exemptions For Licensing My Dog?

- Service Dog Fee Exemptions are ONLY for the following: 

• Guide Dog (Blind)
• War Dog (Military)
• Rescue Dog/Search Dog/Police Work Dog (Fire/Police)

Any other dog considered a service dog will have to pay the associated fee for a dog license. 

• Certified Spayed or Neutered Dogs: $13.50
• Un-spayed or Un-neutered: Dogs $20.50
