Buffalo, NY – Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced registration for inaugural Spring session of the Buffalo Police Athletic League’s (PAL) Game Changers Youth Basketball Program is now closed.
“We initially offered 100 slots, but due to high demand, 25 more slots were added for the first, outdoor Spring session of this popular program,” Mayor Brown said. “This extremely successful program, which my Administration launched in 2013, is much more than a basketball program. Game Changers offers City youth a free, safe environment to play ball and learn critical life skills.”
Covid-safety guidelines prevent PAL from further expanding the Spring session.
The Game Changers program has historically been offered as a single, six-week session held in late Fall at the Delavan/ Grider and Belle Community Centers. Since its inception in 2013, more than 1,500 City of Buffalo youth have taken part in Game Changers sessions.
Game Changers Spring 2021 sessions will take place four weekends in a row May 1 through May 22, on Saturdays (10am – 1pm) at Masten Park. Rain dates will be on Sundays, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
