Buffalo, NY – The City of Buffalo is developing its five-year Consolidated Plan and 2020 Action Plan and is seeking input from City residents to help identify City needs and priorities. The plan provides the basis for how the City applies, receives and distributes U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant funding for the City’s Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership programs. The Five-year Consolidated Plan will describe Buffalo’s community development priorities and goals based on an assessment of affordable housing and community development needs, market conditions and available resources. The City intends to complete the five-year Consolidated Plan by July 2020 and use it as a guide for housing and community development priorities moving forward.
The project team, which includes consultants Mullin & Lonergan Associates and Highland Planning, has scheduled a series of public outreach opportunities, including public meetings, stakeholder workshops, pop-up events, and online surveys.
From now until close of business on Friday, March 20, 2020, City residents can take a quick online survey by going to https://www.buffalony.gov/1295/2020-Consolidated-Plan-Process. Responses are anonymous. In addition, City residents can take the survey by stopping by one of two Pop-Up events:
The City intends to use feedback from these meetings and other outreach efforts to develop strategies to be implemented upon project completion. The project is anticipated to be completed by August 2020.
