Buffalo, N.Y. - The City of Buffalo has opened an additional warming center in North Buffalo as there are several hundred customers temporarily without power in the Parkside neighborhood due to a National Grid issue.
The North Buffalo Community Center, located at 203 Sanders Road, Buffalo, NY 14216, will remain open until power is fully restored in this neighborhood. For any additional information from the Center, please call: 716.874.6133.
According to National Grid, more than 800 customers were initially impacted by the outage as a result of a fire. The utility reported that they are working as quickly as possible to restore power to all customers, and are estimating that work will be completed by midnight. Buffalo Police and Public Works are providing for public safety in areas where traffic lights have been affected by the outage.

Extreme Weather Code Blue Advisory: Due to the extreme weather from 1/18/19 to 1/22/19, which is forecast to reach a Windchill of -20 degrees, the Code Blue Collaborative has determined that NO HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS should be allowed to remain outdoors. Please do all that you can to engage these individuals and direct them to a Code Blue shelter or call 211. If they continue to refuse, 911 must be called to ensure their safety as they will not survive if they remain outdoors.
