Notrthland Job announcement

Mayor Byron W. Brown reached out today to city job seekers, inviting them to attend a large on-site hiring event.  On Wednesday, April 11th, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Mayor Brown, The City of Buffalo – in partnership with The Home Depot, Sinatra & Company Real Estate, Skilled Services International, Creative Construction Services and Buffalo Public Schools, will host a large hiring event, where applications for open positions will be accepted and live interviews will be conducted for a variety of open job positions.  The hiring event will take place at the new Resource Council of WNY, Inc., located at 347 East Ferry Street in Buffalo.

“Economic development continues to move our city forward. We want city residents to have the opportunity to take advantage of the investments being made in Buffalo by obtaining good paying jobs,” said Mayor Brown as he announced that over 500 good paying positions are now available, with over a handful of area employers ready and looking to fill these jobs at Wednesday’s on-site hiring event.   “I thank participating employers for teaming up with my Administration on this on-site hiring event that I would like to see become the single best hiring day ever in Buffalo. What a great opportunity for job candidates to meet with employers face-to-face, and possibly walk away with a job.”

Home Depot will be hiring on-site for cashiers, lot associates, overnight freight and sales associates.  Skilled Services International will be hiring for general labor, diesel mechanics, electricians, carpenters, plumbers and HVAC.  Applications will also be available for Mayor Brown’s Summer Youth Internship and Employment Program.  The deadline to apply to Mayor Brown’s summer youth employment program is Friday, April 27th, 2018.   Apply on line at www.city-buffalo.com.   At Wednesday’s On-Site Hiring Event, job seekers can learn about other job opportunities along the Jefferson Corridor, McCarley Gardens and Kensington Avenue.
