Buffalo, New York - Mayor Byron W. Brown is calling on City youth to register today for the Elite Basketball Camp, led by Indiana Pacers forward and Buffalo native Jordan Nwora. The 5-day camp is designed to help City youth learn many of the fundamental and advanced skills of the game of Basketball through NBA and Collegiate level teaching.
Mayor Brown stated, “I want to thank Buffalo Native and Pacer’s Forward Jordan Nwora and his father, Alex Nwora, the ECC Basketball Coach, for hosting this camp in Buffalo. With a focus on the importance of education, a healthy lifestyle, and sports, this camp will inspire confidence, growth, and development in our young people. I also want to recognize West Herr Automotive Group for teaming up with the City of Buffalo on providing scholarships to eligible City youth so they can take part in the camp.”
In support of the program and Erie Community College Athletics, Mayor Brown, and West Herr Automotive Group teamed up once again to provide scholarships, valued at $300 per participant, for 100 City youth to participate in the camp.
This marks the second Jordan Nwora Foundation camp in his hometown of Buffalo with hopefully more to come throughout Jordan’s NBA career. The Basketball Camp will be held from Monday, July 17th to Friday, July 21st at the Erie Community College Burt Flickinger Athletic Center, located at 12 Oak Street in downtown Buffalo.
