The District Inspections Office within the Department of Permit and Inspection Services is responsible for the following inspection types:
District inspectors are assigned by census tracts based on population. These tracts may overlap several councilmatic districts, but are grouped in the same geographic area(s). Some census tract areas may be larger than others due to the vacant or undeveloped tracts of land within. It is important to know who the inspector assigned to your area is, and to have his or her appropriate phone number.

We must remind property owners that the failure to maintain grass, snow and debris may result in a ticket being issued. As of 2017, our department will now also be issuing tickets for chipping and peeling paint.
Our department’s overall goal is to work with residents, block clubs and community organizations to resolve neighborhood housing and zoning problems throughout the city of Buffalo.
