Community Crime Prevention Initiative
The Community Capacity Development Office are diligently working to implement a five year strategy as they mobilize community residents, federal, state and local offices; law enforcement agencies and criminal justice initiatives with social service providers, private-sector entities and community efforts.

Citizen Participation & Information
The Division of Citizen Services, per city charter, coordinates and oversees the Office of Citizen Participation and Information and the Citizen’s Advisory Committee. The office manages the Mayor’s Citizen’s Participation Academy, Mayor’s Tour of Block Clubs, and other ancillary programs.

Save Our Streets Program
The City of Buffalo’s Save Our Streets (SOS) Task Force is comprised of various law enforcement and government agencies, which include the Division of Citizen Services, City of Buffalo’s Law Department, Buffalo Police Department, Erie County District Attorney’s Office, New York State Attorney General’s Office, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the United States Attorney’s Office. The charge of the Task Force is to empower residents in the community, and improve the quality of life in the City of Buffalo by ridding residential properties of drug activity in a collaborative manner.

The city’s Office of Anti-Graffiti and Clean City Programs includes the city’s graffiti abatement initiative and coordination of Clean City programs.
