If you received a summons and lost it, and the summons was issued more than 8 days ago, wait until you receive a bill. If the summons was issued within the last 8 days, you need to speak with a representative at Parking Violations Bureau who will supply you with proof of an attempt to address your ticket.

Parking tickets cannot be contested on the grounds that the operator is unable to pay. Also, a ticket cannot be contested solely on the grounds that you believe that the Parking Regulation you violated is unfair.
Look at the bottom line on our bill, entitled "Notice of Impending Judgement." You will see a box listing information pertaining to the summons. Look over to the box entitled "Amount Paid." If the amount in the box corresponds to the amount you paid, you are being billed for one of the following:

If you received a letter from our auto impound regarding a vehicle you no longer own, please disregard the letter. It is our responsibility to notify the last titled owner.

Any outstanding tickets under the registered owners name and / or the titled owner must be paid*.
The vehicle must be registered and insured and all towing and storage charges satisfied in order to obtain a release form.
If the police have a hold on the vehicle you will also need written authorization from the Police Department (Police officer, or DA in charge of the case) in order to retrieve the vehicle.
*Only for impounded vehicles, not for accident vehicles.
You have to park legally every day of the year; there are no exceptions for holidays.
Sundays and Legal Holidays are excluded. Holidays are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day only.

From November 1st to April 15th, parking on a Bus Route is prohibited between the hours of 1:30AM-7:00AM.
Hearing requests can be made by email, phone or by mail. Please include the summons or the bill you have received from us, along with your current name and address. We will notify you by mail of your appointment. You may appear any Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday on or before the scheduled date between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. or 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to have your hearing. Hearings cannot be rescheduled. If you want to cancel your hearing and pay, payment can be made by mailing your check or money order for the amount due along with your hearing notice. Payment must be either in person or postmarked by mail no later than the appointed hearing date. If you are the operator of the vehicle but not registered/titleholder, you must bring in written, notarized consent from the owner when you appear for a hearing.

If you have received a ticket at a meter or are disputing alleged sign posting, mail the summons to us with a detailed explanation of the problem along with your current name and address. We will investigate the problem, and the results will be mailed to you with an explanation.
If you are on the street and notice a meter is broken, please contact 311 and let them know the meter number and street it’s located on. They will dispatch an Mechanic to repair any issues.
