Buffalo, NY – Mayor Byron W. Brown today joined Sen. Tim Kennedy to announce a significant windfall in infrastructure funding for the City of Buffalo. Kennedy, Chair of the State Senate’s Transportation Committee, announced Buffalo will receive $16.1 million for street repairs and improvements, up from $6.5 million, a 185 percent increase.
“Every year as my Administration develops our Capital Budget, the list of streets in need of repairs, far exceeds the funds available to address the problems,” Mayor Brown said. “This increase will not only allow us to catch up on the repairs, but to take on improvement projects that will benefit our residents, commuters and visitors. Investment in our streets and roads is key to creating jobs, attracting and growing businesses and reaching a full economic recovery.”
Mayor Brown thanked Sen. Kennedy for fighting for Buffalo and Western New York and delivering for our community.
