Buffalo, NY - Mayor Byron Brown announced today that the City of Buffalo has been notified by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) that its Comprehensive Recycling Analysis (CRA) was approved, making Buffalo the first municipality in New York State to have an approved comprehensive recycling analysis.
“Recycling is an important component to the City’s waste management program,” said Mayor Brown. “I am pleased that the NYSDEC values the work we are doing in the City of Buffalo and wants us to continue to grow the “34 and More Buffalo Recycles” programming.”
The City of Buffalo is focused on increasing recycling and recovery programs for the betterment of the community, the environment and the economy. A Comprehensive Recycling Analysis (CRA) is now required under New York State regulations, providing an opportunity to plan for continued expansion and improvement of existing waste reduction and landfill diversion efforts. The CRA, which was prepared with assistance from MSW Consultants, Inc., is approved through December 2028.
