BUFFALO – Mayor Byron W. Brown announced today that the City of Buffalo has a new yard waste drop off site for its residents. Starting on September 8th, Buffalo City residents will be able to drop off their yard debris at the Geiter Done of Western New York LLC. owned and operated Yard Waste Drop off site, located
at 383 Babcock Avenue. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8AM – 3:30PM. Residents will no longer be allowed to drop off yard waste at the City’s Engineering Garage, located at 1120 Seneca Street. Curbside yard debris pickup remains unchanged.
Acceptable material includes:
- Branches
- Brush
- Christmas Trees
- Grass Clipping
- Leaves
- Plant Trimmings
- Tree Trimmings
- Limbs
- Stumps
- Uncontaminated Wood debris (cannot be treated or painted)
- Garbage or putrescible waste
Residents will need to provide Proof of Residency.
Licensed Contractors dropping off yard waste material on behalf of a resident must receive prior approval from the Department of Public Works. For more information, contact Susan Attridge, Director of Refuse and Recycling at 851-5014.
