- Historic Resources Intensive Level Survey
The Office of Strategic Planning partnered with kta preservation specialists to develop an overview of the history of development in South Buffalo and conduct a survey of the historic character of over 10,000 properties in South Buffalo. The survey was completed in two phases and made possible due to funding from Councilmember Scanlon’s office and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).
The South Buffalo Reconnaissance Level Historic Resource Survey identified two new potential national historic districts in addition to several properties that are individually eligible to be listed as national and/or local landmarks. Click the links below to read the report for each phase.
The Office of Strategic Planning is holding two public workshops on January 27th and February 23rd to educate homeowners in one of the proposed historic districts, the McKinley Parkway Historic District, about the historic tax credits that they will be eligible for. The workshops will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Irish Center.
